Audio Work
Full Circle Food Pantry (Audio doc) - Co-Producer
I invited graduated student Darby Gilliand to work on an audio documentary project with me for the Jane B. Gearhart Full Circle Food Pantry on UA’s campus. The 15-minute audio doc won an Award of Excellence at the Broadcast Education Association On-Location creative competition in October of 2022 and has since aired on KXUA and is used as promotional material for the food pantry.
Dive Bar Happy Hour - Producer/Host
A weekly radio show/podcast focusing on independent musicians that cannot be heard on traditional corporate radio. Episodes feature music and interviews with artists, concert promoters, and music aficionados. While this was not commissioned or juried, it’s part of my creative practice to continually make media. It keeps my creative energy flowing, my skills tuned, and in a strange transition year during the pandemic it was a nice way to gain some momentum. 22 episodes were produced and aired on KXUA between November 2020 – May 2021.
Mad Anthology – Producer, Engineer, Musician
Each week, for 52 weeks, we released a brand new song. We also released new content on a weekly basis, like music videos, photos, and merch. What’s unique about what we created is who we creating it with. The project involves dozens of the musicians, engineers, producers and friends from all over North America whom we have met over the years while touring and playing music. The theme is collaboration and community. We wrote songs with these people because we want you to know who they are and hear their music too.
Releasing a song a week for a whole year may seem impossible to some bands, but at the core of this project, we are doing what we have always done: work our asses off and share the love.
Stats + Stories Podcast - Engineer
In the Fall of 2012, the election predictions from statistical and mathematical models were celebrated, and the pundits were quaking. We see professional sports management reflecting a *money-balled* analysis that is hoped will generate better informed decisions about personnel. We go to the grocery with rewards cards that are linked to coupons that are tuned to our particular historic purchasing patterns. Is it possible to understand what is going on behind the scenes in these stories? Does it matter how studies are conducted? What numbers can we trust?
Ecotone – Producer
When Particles Collide approached me about co-writing and producing a song for their upcoming album and I was thrilled to be invited. "Burn" was written on wintery day in New Hampshire and recorded and mixed over two days at Halo Studios in Maine.
Sank For Days – Producer, Musician
With 'Sank For Days' I knew I wanted to create something more encompassing. We didn't set out to make a concept album but it's often referred to as such because of the interweaving storyline that takes the listen through a dark aural landscape. The nautically themed anchor carried over to a special edition vinyl where an image of a scuba diver fighting a octopus was screen-printed over clear vinyl.
